TRESemmé UK Event with Tanya Burr!!

Retweet this button on every post blogger
TRESemmé UK held a wonderful get together event on 20th September at the Westin Hotel, Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Dubai.  Beauty and fashion bloggers from the region were invited to this event

Dominic Smales
We were given a warm welcome by super excited and smiling face of Dominic Smales, Gleam Digital MD who made this event happen here in Dubai. We had a lovely chat where he was extremely happy to discover that TRESemmé was the first brand to hold such an event in Dubai for us bloggers.

We got to meet the UK’s famous YouTube guru Tanya Burr aka pixi2woo. She makes great makeup tutorials. We also got to meet her boyfriend, Jim Chapman who runs one of the top men’s grooming channel in youtube. Both are lovely people!

Raymond Moussan working on Tanya's hair

The event started with Raymond Moussan, a top local hairstylist of Moussan Beauty Salon, Dubai demonstrating styling techniques on Tanya’s hair. He also enlightened us with the proper usage of TRESemmé products along with some useful styling and hair care advice.

This was followed by a steady discussion and Q&A session with Raymond and Dominic. Dominic had requested us bloggers to pass on specific hair related questions by mail prior to the event so they can know what kind of issues are more common with women in Dubai. Turns out most of them are related to the humidity, the way it affects our hair. We also got a great insight about TRESemmé products to use specific to our needs.

Drink and canapés served were delicious. I got to meet lots of local talented bloggers and also received this goodie bag!

I was infact given 2 goodie bags but the weight was so much on one of the bags that it broke while carrying!

I am awed by how much this company cares about its consumers located in diverse regions and especially a big market like the Middle East. Dominic, Tanya and Jim actually came over from the UK just for a day for this event. And when they discovered we have a totally different issue with our hair as compared to the consumers in the west, they got our initially goodies (24Hr Body Shampoo & Conditioner) exchanged with the Heat Defense range shipped over especially. A totally unneeded but a great gesture!

Thanks TRESemmé UK & Dominic for the lovely event!

It’s Not Called TOPSHOP for Nothing!

Missing out the fun in London Fashion Week? Me, too!! But guess what?? Topshop in collaboration with Grazia ME gave us Middle East bloggers a chance to attend the London equivalent of the Topshop ‘Unique’ Fashion show on 20th September at the Topshop store in Dubai Mall to give us a quick glimpse of the latest items going to hit the store along with styling tips for this upcoming season.

As we entered, we were given this style card to be filled to enter a competition to win a new Topshop wardrobe to the value of Dhs.1000 which was won by Alanoud Badr from Fashion Gossip and Nadia Hassan from Fierce Diaries. Nadia’s number one fashion rule: The rule is…..There is NO RULE! Comfort is the key. I was really impressed by Alanoud’s answer; ‘Wear the dress, don’t let the dress wear you.’
Advice on this season’s most-wanted styles & looks by Elaine Greenshields, Editor in chief:

Rebellious dressing: Remember the teddy boys back in the 50’s? Expect the androgynous outifts inspired by aspects of the 1950s teddy boy era! The modern take of it, mostly monochrome, perfectly tailored, the definitive boy meets girl look with lots of brogues, unfitted blazers, shirts and bow ties is hot this season!

Polka Dots: Yes, they are back!! Again they should be little bit monochromic, should give a feminine feel in the way they are incorporated.
Naomi Chadderton (Jr.Fashion Editor), rocking the polka dots! She also got to style both the winners of the competition at the end.

Prim & Polished:  Look forward to this trend consisting lady like demure of girly printed floral tops & tea dresses in the lovely autumnal colors.
A look which Charlotte was working (Head of PR & Marketing at Grazia) with a floral top.

Glam Rock: Don this rockstar look with appropriate leather textured pieces giving that edge to this look. Make the most of it! Play with feather, sequins and silk and transform to few celeb looks too! A shimmering smoky eye paired with skinny leather trousers and textured hair is ultimately rock.
Rachel Ingram pulling off this look with skinny leather trousers from Topshop and slightly slouchy oversized jumper.
Other tips & tricks for the season ahead:
Add the accessory: This can transform your look in an instant. Have a look at Elaine’s neckpiece which is a gorgeously pretties up her black slit dress.
Pencil Leather Skirts: They are very in this fall! They look less of the seductive librarian look and more of smart and classy.
Elaine Greenshields, Editor in chief, Grazia Middle East

The event was very well organized which was followed by a Q & A round from us bloggers. I was really impressed by how each Grazia staff rocked the most wanted looks of this season wearing Topshop pieces.

Simone Heng wearing this lovely Ushi Sato dress.

The tempting cupcakes which I forgot to eat! :(

What were we left with at the end of the event?
A 25% discount to the VIP invitees; too bad I was in a hurry to leave so couldn’t make use of it:( will have to make do with the 10% student discount only. A lovely goodie bag with these goodies! And Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode stuck in my head~

Thank you Topshop, Grazia, Elaine & Rachel for this lovely event!
