Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Enamels Review, Swatches & Dupes

Recently, I got tonnes of nail enamels from Avon (well not really tonnes, but loads!!) since they were having an offer of buy 2 nail enamels at the price of one. So I picked up 6 different shades and paid for only 3 nail enamels. Yayy!! Since I am not much of a nail polish fan, I decided to plunge into varieties so ended up taking 3 brighter shades which I will be wearing quite often in summers and 3 darker shades just because I was tempted to get them :P

What Avon says about these polishes?
• Upto 10 day wear

• High gloss, wet-look finish with long-lasting color

• Salon-quality precision brush

Price: Around $8 for every 2 polishes.
Quantity: 12ml

My Experience with these pro enamels
Obviously for me, personally I though some colors were absolutely beautiful as compared to others but each and every shade I found to be a gem in itself. If you are an avid reader of nail polish/art blogs or a nail polish blogger yourself, I am sure at some point of time you might have heard someone rave about Avon’s pro range of enamels and believe me it’s worth every bit of it!! Usually, nail polishes do not last long on my nails. I need touch ups every 2 days but this thing lasted amazingly for 6 days without any touch up required that too without a top coat!! As true to its claims, it’s so glossy that I don’t even need to use a top coat. Just 2 coats of the desired polish along with a base coat works wonders. 
Now let’s have a look at the lovely colors I picked up:

NOTE: Please ignore the sloppy application. I was just too sleepy!

Green with Envy: It is a very dark forest green. It looks almost black in dim light, but in daylight or under strong light, it gives a hint of green.
Dupe: Sephora by OPI – Dark Room

Peppermint Leaf: My most fav shade out of the lot!! I was searching for a similar shade since long and chanced upon this!! It is a very pastel shade of mint green unlike Barry M’s Mint Green which is much brighter compared to this.
Dupe: Essie Greenport & China Glaze- For Audrey.

Midnight Plum: It’s a deep plum color with slight hints of burgundy. This is how it looks with one coat. However, it starts looking almost black with 2 coats. It looks a lot closer to OPI Lincoln Park After Dark when 2 or more coats are applied. Otherwise it looks closer to OPI Yes…I Can-Can just without any shimmer in one coat. A single coat can make such a drastic difference!!!

Deluxe Chocolate:  It is a rich chocolate brown having slight red undertones with lots of golden/bronze shimmer. This color definitely cannot be rocked by everyone!!
Dupe: Chanel's Limited Edition Haute Chocolat (not sure if still sold in stores) & Avon’s Speed Dry+ in Mink.

Viva Pink: It is a bright Barbie pink fuchsia color. How can any girl resist this AWESOME color???
Dupe: OPI Strawberry Margarita

Real Red: It is a medium red with blue undertones making it look bright. Perfect to its name ‘Real Red’.
Dupe: Avon Simply Pretty – Cherry Red, OPI - O'Hare And Nails Look Great & Eyeko Saucy Red

Pros of Avon Nailwear Pro Enamels
    •    All the polishes are very opaque giving high gloss wet finish
    •    Just one coat is enough to
    •    Definitely long lasting (yes 6 days without any chip is simply awesome for my nails!!)
    •    The Big 3 Free formula with no use of formaldehyde, toluene or phthalates leading to excellent coverage.
    •    Good price for quality and quantity. Can easily compete with high brand polishes.
    •    Good variety of colors – bright & dark perfect for all seasons and occasions.

Cons of Avon Nailwear Pro Enamels
    •    Avon needs to come up with some innovative and unique names for their shades. They are just so typical and oh-so boring types.
    •    They don’t make all their colors available in every region. Here hardly 12 shades are available in a range of total around 30-32 colors (not completely sure).

Avon Big Colour Dual Ended Eye Pencils- Review & Swatches

This is like the latest makeup item which is causing a buzz here. Why wouldn't it? After all, this item is awesome!!! I am not sure if these pencils have been released everywhere else but here it got released just last month and its quickly going out of stock due to huge demand.

How Avon recommends using these pencils?

Sweep the darker shade along your lashes for definition. To open up your eyes, blend the highlighter beneath your eyebrows.

As you can see from the picture, that's exactly how the model has used one of these pencils.

What I like about these pencils?

* Honestly, I think these pencils are excellent for those individuals who find it difficult to match colors or blend together. These dual ended pencils have 2 colors complimenting each other which will suit anyone and everyone.  

* One can use these colors to make both a subtle look as well as super dramatic looks.

* The pencils are highly pigmented. All of them have shimmering particles in them which reflect beautifully whereas 1 shade is very matte (Blue Azure). 

* These liners are so versatile that it could be used as bases, eyeshadows, highlighters and liners. 

 * It is a travel friendly product as it will save space due to its multipurpose use.

* These pencils are waterproof.

* It is very creamy to use & can be easily removed by eye makeup remover.

What I don’t like about these pencils?

Nothing I have found yet which will make me dislike these pencils!!

Also I have compared my Avon Big Colour lip pencil which with this Dual ended eye pencil to show you the size difference.

Final Verdict: I think they are great pencils which will last a long long time.  Definitely worth a try!!

Avon Anew Youth-Awakening Lipstick SPF 15 – Review & Swatches

I haven’t really started using any aging makeup as of yet, so the idea was pretty weird to me at first. I mean we usually get to see & hear more about aging skin products but I wasn’t really aware of any brands in particular offering aging makeup products which might be the reason why this concept has still not registered in my mind. Anyway, since I’m an Avon rep I have to be upto date with each and every product that is available for sale. My clients range from all ages. But somehow all seemed to get attracted to different colors which this lipstick offers. Honestly, can’t blame them. The colors are indeed beautiful.

What Avon says about this lipstick?

There are a total of 8 colors available here. However, online I saw a variety of different colors too.

I love Glazed Almond, Sunset Pink & Desert Rose. Chocolate Brown is way too dark for my skin tone and Sugary Pink is just way too sheer.

What I like about these lipsticks?

*They don’t settle in the fine lines of the lips.

*Contains SPF15.

*Gives a very smooth and creamy texture.

* They are long lasting.

* I feel these lipsticks give a slight illusion of plump and full lips.

* I personally like the golden casing.

*Rich colors.

What I don’t like about these lipsticks?

*The casing might get a little loose after a while.

Other than that I think these are just lovely. Everyone should have it. Personally, I think if the color suits you and you love everything about it, there is no harm in using this even if ideally it’s not your age to use aging makeup products. What do you think?

You saw it right, I am an Avon representative :D I want to share with you guys my exact experience.

This happened during the start of this month. My neighbor is an Avon rep and knowing how crazy I am about their products she asked me if I wanted to apply for becoming a rep myself. I applied and got a response back & then the Avon lady in charge of my area came to visit my place to actually train me since I was having problems in visiting their office. I was really awed by that. She came with this black bag which contains samples, brochures, bill memo, purchase order form & a training book. This first training lasted for almost 2 hours where I was briefed about everything: Avon’s history, their present market value, advantages of being a rep, how to approach customers, my sales target & how to place an order. There are few things I learnt in the process:-

• Avon’s more than 120 years old i.e. before women even had their right to vote!!
• Avon was the first company to ever start with an anti aging product. All companies followed suit & no other company knows the exact formulation which makes it different from their brands.
• Avon is the first largest direct selling company of this world.
• Reese Witherspoon is their global brand ambassador.

I had a second training a week after the first which was just a recap of my first one which lasted for 10 mins. Oh btw she again came to my place :) Now I have a third & final one 2 weeks from now.

All in all its being a great experience as of now. If you are wondering why I am doing it, it’s to gain experience since I’m a business student. All this stuff just excites me!!

Now that doesn’t mean I will stop buying other brands and only promote Avon. I’m still loyal to all the brands I sincerely love :)

But being a rep has its perks. I get free samples to show my clients, not for myself :P

As you know you can buy their products only browsing through brochures where pictures might not be accurate. Will you guys be interested in seeing swatches of various samples I have?

NOTD - Breast Cancer Inspired

I was inspired by Sharon's manicure & decided to give a try. I'm really bad with nail art as simple as polka dots too!! So somehow I was super happy that this turned out just fine :D and it stayed for 3 days yayy (not really an notd :P)

Boutique in Brown (Italy brand)



Can you see that lovely little keychain in the background? I got that from Avon to support Breast Cancer. It is an iron keyring featuring one round plate(approx.diameter 3cm) with magenta crusade ribbon on one side and a flower shape plate(approx.diameter 2cm).

I got this for 15dhs (around $4.09). I request you all to show your support to any brand or organization that is contributing towards breast cancer research or in any other way to raise awareness about this issue. thank you :)

New Products from Avon

I am a die hard Avon fan !! I have tried quite a lot of their products and have had mostly good experiences with them :)

I was just having a look at the latest Avon brochure given to me by my neighbour who happens to be an Avon representative.There are quite a lot of stuff which caught my eye and I thought to share them with you.

Ella Ballerina

This is a new range - Ella Ballerina introduced for kids/teenagers by Avon. I would say its quite a nice collection which includes Caranel Shine Lip Gloss, Starlight strawberry lip balm, Princess Perfect body lotion, Beautiful Ballerina Body Wash & Shining Star Shampoo. Its quite a nice range but I doubt it would work very well reason being mostly teenage girls (unlike ladies) won't really go searching for Avon representatives until its someone close they know whose selling it. Even though the pricing is great for teens,  they would rather prefer to purchase it directly from drugstores avoiding all the shipping and waiting issues.

Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliner

I'm sure you must have heard of Avon Glimmerstick eyeliners.If you haven't let me tell you they are great !!! Now even though the original ones are called glimmersticks they don't really have much shine to them. This on the other hand claims to have more glimmers than the original ones hence its called Glimmerstick Diamonds. Colors available are:- Emerald Glow, Black Ice & Sugar Plum. As you can see there is a great offer of buy 2 & get 1 free going on. I'm actually getting tempted to get it !!

Avon Color Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel

You must have heard all the rave about Avon's Nailwear Pro nail enamel. This Speed Dry+ nail enamel claims to dry in less than 30 seconds.It is also specially designed brush delivers just the right amount of formula, so there's no mess and no fuss. Sounds great right?

 Plus they have different colors compared to Nailwear Pro. Another reason to try out !!

Avon's Velvet Cream Eyeshadow

Seeing all the different colors on the eyes, I'm getting super tempted to buy this plus I don't really own a cream eyeshadow. I guess this one would be good to start out. I just don't trust the colors shown :(

Arabian Glow Sweep Cheeks in Roasted Nugget

I have been wanting to try this for quite sometime just wasn't sure since I haven't seen a single review about this product and I am just too skeptical to pay 79 bucks and not find a great difference !! So if you purchase it or know how it looks do let me know.

P.S. don't the bronzing pearls look super tempting too :P

Color Trend Eyeshadow Palettes 

I like the look of Tempting Twilight more than Pastel Passion just because of that green. It's such a pretty light greenish color. I haven't come across a similar shade anywhere else. but again I don't trust the pics :(

I love, love, love Fergie & the BEP itself for that matter. I can never get enough of their music!!

 Outspoken by Fergie is scented with frosted berries, tuberose and sexy black leather. I have heard amazing reviews about its EDP. It's like the fragrance of 2010!!
