Avon Anew Youth-Awakening Lipstick SPF 15 – Review & Swatches

Retweet this button on every post blogger

I haven’t really started using any aging makeup as of yet, so the idea was pretty weird to me at first. I mean we usually get to see & hear more about aging skin products but I wasn’t really aware of any brands in particular offering aging makeup products which might be the reason why this concept has still not registered in my mind. Anyway, since I’m an Avon rep I have to be upto date with each and every product that is available for sale. My clients range from all ages. But somehow all seemed to get attracted to different colors which this lipstick offers. Honestly, can’t blame them. The colors are indeed beautiful.

Quantity: 3.6gr
Price: 59Dhs ($16)

What Avon says about this lipstick?
Avon’s first lipstick that works deep within your lips to fight the 5 signs of lip aging:
1. Fine lines
2. Deep wrinkles
3. Reduced definition
4. Loss of rosy tone
5. Decrease in fullness

With continued use, your lips are remarkably transformed. Luxuriously smooth color, clinically proven performance...magnificently younger-looking lips.

There are a total of 8 colors available here. However, online I saw a variety of different colors too.
Here are the swatches of the 5 colors which I have:
(click on pictures to see an enlarged view)
I love Glazed Almond, Sunset Pink & Desert Rose. Chocolate Brown is way too dark for my skin tone and Sugary Pink is just way too sheer.

What I like about these lipsticks?
*They don’t settle in the fine lines of the lips.
*Contains SPF15.
*Gives a very smooth and creamy texture.
* They are long lasting.
* I feel these lipsticks give a slight illusion of plump and full lips.
* I personally like the golden casing.
*Rich colors.

What I don’t like about these lipsticks?
*The casing might get a little loose after a while.

Other than that I think these are just lovely. Everyone should have it. Personally, I think if the color suits you and you love everything about it, there is no harm in using this even if ideally it’s not your age to use aging makeup products. What do you think?

NOTD - Green Glitter Flakes

Retweet this button on every post blogger
Today is my cousin's wedding dinner reception. I was super bored so decided to play around with my nails to dress up for the occasion. I applied a dark green base and then this super glittery polish which has small flakes of silver circles and stars along with blue-green glitters to match with my dress. The purple-gold dress in the background is what I plan to wear. I had no idea it's gonna match so perfectly. Now just can't wait to play around with my eyes to compliment the dress :D

If you look closely you will see the flakes are not placed properly but I found it extremely difficult to move them around for proper placing since picking them from the brush itself was a task. But I guess it's not really important to be perfect right? As long as the overall effect comes out nice.

These are the best shots I could come up with. Let me know what you think :)

Wanna get sued for writing your opinion?

Retweet this button on every post blogger

If by chance you have absolutely no idea what’s the blogging scenario right now in the Middle East, I will cut short the whole story for you. This famous Lebanese blogger, Mark Makhoul residing in Kuwait which is one of the richest countries currently ranking 4th position (before US btw) and huge supporter of US in the Iraq wars (sorry had to be mentioned for those geographically ignorant people) has been sued for writing a review on a restaurant. Yes you heard it right!!

He basically wrote about his experience in a new restaurant. The food didn’t meet his expectations. Well and good. He justified by posting 2 videos. He wrote a professional review expressing his point of view like all of us do in the blogging world. So what does he receive for his negative review in return? A court order from the manager of the restaurant suing the man!!

What do we learn from this?
The company obviously cannot take any constructive criticism and instead of improving on its services based on genuine customer feedback they chose to attack the customer. Really is that what all the crap of customer service is about? I am a marketing major and I have been taught that ‘Customer is the King’. Whether they like or not what you offer, you are supposed to treat them no less than how you would treat your highest authority. Because of them you run a business in the first place and if you treat them like crap by suing them you don’t deserve to run an organization no matter how small or big!!

Second the company’s PR sucked bad!! Instead of handling the situation he made it worse by suing Mark. He ruined the reputation and brand name of his company by this single inexcusable act. They ended up getting the negative publicity on themselves.

Thirdly, how much are we bloggers actually protected? I am a beauty blogger posting genuine negative reviews time to time (if only I’m dissatisfied with a product) with hope that the brand will improve in its quality and service and not intentionally attacking any company. But how safe are we actually blogging about our opinion? How are our blogger protection rights being followed? This is something we really need to think about!

I request you to please support Mark and his cause. This is the link to his personal blog: http://www.248am.com/ & this is where he posted the review http://www.248am.com/mark/kuwait/my-benihana-experience/
Bloggers do remember any of us could be in his situation easily. He deserves his right to freedom of speech be it in any form.

Boots Natural Collection Strawberry Body Cream Review

Retweet this button on every post blogger

Want to know what’s keeping my skin super moisturized and yummy smelling all this summer?

It’s this yummy, lovely, eye-catching jar of Boots Natural Collection Strawberry Body Cream. I got this just for how it looked in the jar and it’s amazing smell. Infact I got it 11 months back but started using it just recently because it looked so good I just didn’t feel like using it and spoiling the whole cream-gel look :P

This cream looks so good you just feel like eating it up. I honestly would have thinking it as strawberry yoghurt :P as it does smell like it too. It’s a swirl of white cream and red/pink gel. Now I really love its moisturizing level. It is kinda sticky initially but when it penetrates in your skin, it leaves no greasy residue whatsoever. I really don’t mind the stickiness as for me other things matter more.  I mostly use it after taking a bath or before sleeping.

You might be thinking why am I using a fruity fragrance on winter instead of summers? I don’t mind smelling like fruits all round the year :D Plus it really works great for my drying winter skin so I guess that’s a plus point. Moving on to price, I got it for Dhs40 (£6.81) when it’s actual price in UK boots is for £3.56. I find it sort of expensive for a body cream. But it’s alright to treat our body once in a while right?

What I like about this cream?
*Moisturizes well
*Smells divine!!
*Good packaging. Comes in a clear jar so you can see how much is left.
*White cream leaves the skin super smooth & red gel leaves a cooling sensation at the same time.

What I don’t like about this cream?
*Its kinda expensive for a drugstore body cream.
*No mention of ingredients in the packaging. Aint that weird?
*Fragrance doesn’t last for long.

I really recommend you to atleast smell it any of the boots stores. I’m sure you will be lured into getting this :P I also got its body wash since I am so in love with it.

Have you tried it? What’s your take on this product?
Want to see a review on its body wash too? Let me know J

Iconic Haul & Rad's Giveaway

Retweet this button on every post blogger
Iconic had this huge massive sale for Christmas last month but since my comp wasn't working I never got a chance to post the lovely stuff I got for myself at a cheap bargain :D                                                                       Iconic is this amazing shop which sells products from New Look, Splash, Guess, Victoria Secrets, Nyx and many other beauty and fashion brands. So I wanted to get lots and lots of stuff obviously seeing the sale :P But mom had come along and she wanted to get everything super fast so she could get to shop in other places where she was interested!! So these are the few little goodies I got:-
These are Beauty Junky Face Masks. Honestly I got them just for the super cute packaging :P But I'm definitely gonna use them all up. They individually cost Dhs 12 ($3.2). I got them for Dhs 6. ($1.6) each. These include strawberry face mask, dead sea mud mask, aromatherapy face mask with essential oils and cucumber peel off mask.

Again they were just tooo cute to pass on. These are Cheeky Chimp face masks which I got at the same price as the Beauty Junky ones. I am gonna have a great laugh while using it :P

Next I got this pretty cuff link bracelet in black and silver diamond studs. They shine soo much that it looks like real swarovski. They were available in many colors like blue, pink, complete black, complete white/silver etc. But I chose to for this 2 toned colored one. Plus it would go on practically anything!! It came for Dhs 10 ($2.7) whereas its original price was Dhs 20 ($5.4).

This is how it looks on my wrist with the heart closing and a tiny stud on the top.

My final purchase of Iconic was this lovely red evening clutch. I had got the same clutch in pink 10 months back for Dhs. 44 ($11.9) after discount using my student id from splash to gift my friend for her birthday. and guess how much I got this one for?
Dhs.20 ($5.4) !!

Obviously you can imagine how annoyed I must have got at gifting the same one with just different color to my friend double the price what I got for..Arghh

Anyway, this was the best bargain of all for me since I desperately needed a red clutch for my friend's wedding.

Do let me know what you think of the stuff I got :)

Oh Btw, one of my earliest blog commentors & a good friend through IMBB, Rads is giving away the following goodies & guess what it's international. Yayy!!
So, enter here asap as the giveaway ends 25th Jan!!

Nivea Visage Refreshing Face Wash Gel Review

Retweet this button on every post blogger
I am not sure but I guess the Nivea Visage range came out somewhere in 2006-2007. It was such a huge success over here with the great ads they did to show how it’s best for young people. I have been using it since then though I keep switching to other washes every now and then.

Quantity:- 150ml
Price:- Dhs. 23.50 ($6.3)

What Nivea says about their Nivea Visage Refreshing Face Wash Gel?
To keep normal and combination skin fresh & supple all day long, its natural moisture balance should be respected even during cleansing.
NIVEA VISAGE ® REFRESHING FACIAL WASH GEL effectively yet gently purifies normal and combination skin:
It removes dirt while respecting the skin’s own lipids and moisturisers help prevent skin dehydration.
The refreshing facial wash gel purifies and invigorates the skin.
Result:
The skin is deeply purified for a fresh skin feeling.

How I use this face wash?
This is my almost 5th tube of this face wash. Shows how much I like it :P
I mainly use this to remove my eye makeup since this is the only wash that does not sting or irritate my eyes. I use a different face wash for daily morning use though. This is more like my night face wash as I get rid of all my face makeup with this before sleeping.

What I like about it?
· It’s the best mild face wash ever. Even people with super sensitive skin can try it.
·  Can be used daily
· The packaging is nice. The plastic used is kinda hard so while pressing out you can make sure you don’t get out too much for the fear of wastage unlike with the other normal tubes.
· Has a mild aquatic fragrance
· I have a combination skin & it works fine for me.

What I don’t like about this wash?
· It claims to purify and cleanse deeply however I don’t feel totally cleansed after using this. I wash my face again with a deep cleanser again whenever I need it.
· I don’t think this would work for acne prone or oily skin.

I would recommend this wash to everyone especially to those who are having trouble finding a mild face wash for daily use or those with sensitive skin. This is definitely worth a try.

My Rating:- ♥ ♥ ♥
